The quiet of the night brings with it a stillness and sense of peace that calms the soul of even the most frantic city-dweller. Without electricity and artificial lights, you’ll see a whole new world under glistening moonlight. As local villages turn in for the night, there is a brief reprise of silence before nature’s nocturnal shift begins. Listen as a symphony of animal sounds fill the air, and slowly drift off to the Mekong’s gentle rhythms lulling you to sleep. Wake up to a delicious breakfast awaiting and fuel up for brand new adventures in the day ahead.

Choose from 3 different overnight cruise experiences: Luang Prabang Overnight Cruise, Pak Ou & Beyond Overnight Cruise, or Kuang Si Waterfalls, Pak Ou & Beyond Overnight Cruise. Meeting the Boat

We offer transfers to and from the boat and will pick you up directly at your hotel. Within city limits.

If you would like to make your own way to the boat, the confirmation of dock will be provided at the time of your booking.

If staying within walking distance of the Mekong, we ask that you meet us on the Mekong. We will provide the location to the most convenient dock in relation to your hotel.

Suitable footwear and clothing for the appropriate seasons. Mornings and evenings can be cool during the winter months.

Please ensure you are dressed appropriately and respectfully if wishing to visiting religious sites in Laos.

Ladies should have their shoulders and knees covered. Men should also have their shoulders covered but knee shorts are acceptable.

Things To Consider

Visiting Local Sites of Interest

When visiting local villages and temples along the Mekong river, do be aware that oftentimes there are no paved pathways and you’re usually met with uneven ground and stairways. We ask each of our guests to please be aware of your own fitness level and to take this into consideration on your tour.

Cultural Considerations

Please ensure you are dressed appropriately and respectfully for entering any religious site in Laos. Villages have their own local temples, so kindly take note of this if you wish to pay them a visit.

Ladies should have their shoulders and knees covered. Men should also have their shoulders covered but knee shorts are acceptable.

It is polite to remove your shoes before entering any temple or local Lao home. Note: Your feet should never be used for pointing, especially in the direction of a monk or novice. It is also impolite to step over or through people sitting down.

Responsible Tourism

We kindly ask our guests not to hand out money to children in the villages they visit. Should you wish to support any of the villages or temples that you come across, please let us know and we’ll be happy to advise on how to do that responsibly.

What to Expect

DAY 1

2-HOURS BEFORE SUNSET

Meet your boat captain, crew, and guide at the dock. We will depart 2-hours prior to sunset.

CRUISE TO REST AREA + DINNER

About an hour into the cruise, we will arrive at our rest area for the night. Enjoy some local hospitality and dinner in lush nature.

SLEEP

After dinner, we’ll get ready for our sleepover on the boat!

DAY 2

0730AM – BREAKFAST

Wake from your restful slumber and enjoy a delicious breakfast freshly prepared by our chef.

0800AM – CRUISE TO CHOSEN SITE OF INTEREST

After breakfast, we’ll head to a local village of your choice. Choose from Ban Channuea, Ban Sang Khong or Chomphet & Tham Sack Kalin.

0930AM – VILLAGE EXPLORATION

Spend an hour learning about the vanishing trade of pottery-making in Ban Channuea, shopping for Saa paper and handmade textiles in Ban Sang Khong, or visit sacred temples in Chomphet and Tham Sack Kalin.

1030AM – DEPART VILLAGE

Cruise back to Luang Prabang.

1100AM – ARRIVE LUANG PRABANG

Arrive back in Luang Prabang.

DAY 1

1130AM

Meet your boat captain, crew, and guide at the dock.

1200PM

Enjoy a leisurely lunch while cruising up the Mekong river.

1300PM

Arrive at Pak Ou and explore the caves with your local guide.

1445PM

Depart Pak Ou and head to the rest area for the night in Ban Phongsatvan, a small & quaint Khmu riverside village.

1645PM

Arrive in Ban Phongsatvan. Head on land and spend the evening exploring your surroundings and the local village life.

Tuck into a delicious dinner before heading back onboard the boat to turn in for the night.

DAY 2

0730AM

Wake from your restful slumber and enjoy a continental breakfast freshly prepared by our chef.

0800AM

Depart from Ban Phongsatvan and head to Ban Tone for another spot of village exploration.

0900AM

Spend an hour experiencing the simple life in the Khmu village of Ban Tone.

1000AM

Depart Ban Tone. Lunch will be served onboard during the cruise back to Luang Prabang.

1300PM

Arrive back in Luang Prabang.

DAY 1

0800AM

Meet your boat captain, crew, and guide at the dock. Depart Luang Prabang for Kuang Si Waterfalls.

0900AM

Arrive at Kuang Si docks where a car will be waiting to start your morning sightseeing!

0915AM

Arrive at Buffalo Dairy Farm or Butterfly Park.

1015AM

Depart for Kuang Si Waterfalls.

1030AM

Arrive at Kuang Si Waterfalls. You have 1.5 hours to climb the trails to the top of the falls, take a dip in the refreshing turquoise pools, or just relax and admire the beauty of the falls.

1200 – 1215PM

Depart Kuang Si Waterfalls and make your way back to the boat. Enjoy lunch onboard and a long leisurely cruise up north to the rest area for the night.

Along the way, you’ll pass Luang Prabang and Pak Ou.

1615PM

Arrive in a local village where you can spend the evening exploring your surroundings on land.

Dinner will be served before you head back to the boat to turn in for the night.

DAY 2

0730AM

Wake from your restful slumber and enjoy a continental breakfast freshly prepared by our chef.

0800AM

Head to Ban Tone for another spot of village exploration.

0900AM

Spend an hour experiencing the simple life in the Khmu village of Ban Tone.

1000AM

Depart Ban Tone and begin the journey south down the Mekong river.

1200PM

Make a stop at Pak Ou to visit the caves with your local guide.

1245PM

Depart Pak Ou and enjoy lunch onboard as we cruise back to Luang Prabang.

1430PM

Arrive back in Luang Prabang.
